Build the true DIY total

Start with the same slab dimensions and specified thickness used in the contractor quote. Convert material quantity into the actual purchase and placement plan rather than stopping at cubic yards.

  • Bag or ready-mix material and all delivery charges.
  • Base, forms, reinforcement when specified, joints, and curing products.
  • Mixer, compactor, saw, floats, screeds, transport, fuel, and cleaning.
  • Helpers, your own time, disposal, contingency, and tax.

For bags, divide the total bag count by the number a mixer can handle per batch and keep the continuous placement window in view. For ready-mix, price the access path, chute reach, buggy or pump, unloading time, crew, washout, and standby risk.

A useful quote states what will be built and what is excluded. Confirm site preparation, base, forms, concrete specification, reinforcement where applicable, placement, finish, joints, curing, cleanup, schedule, warranty, and change-order assumptions.
