Saved projects

Calcstead stores one current project per calculator in this browser’s local storage. That includes dimensions, prices, section names, selected units, and comparison options. Ordinary edits do not add those values to the page address. They are not synchronized between devices.

“Start new project” replaces the current saved project for that calculator. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes saved projects and analytics preferences. Download a project file first if you want to keep a copy.

Shared links and files

“Copy link” encodes the complete project in the fragment after the # symbol. Anyone with the full link can read those values; encoding is not encryption. Fragments are not part of the HTTP request sent to the web server, but the full link remains available to your browser and anyone you share it with.

Older links may contain project values in the query string before the # symbol. Opening those links sends that query string with the page request. Save a copy and generate a new link to use the current format.

Opening a shared link or project file creates a preview and keeps your saved project separate. “Save a copy” replaces the saved project in this browser. Downloading a project or issue report creates a local file and does not submit it to Calcstead.

Optional analytics

Optional analytics is not enabled in this deployment. No Google Analytics script is loaded.

Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to review the available option. Withdrawing analytics consent disables further configured tracking and reloads the page without the analytics script. Existing browser cookies may remain until you clear this site’s cookies.

Advertising and hosting

Advertising is disabled in this deployment. Ad credentials by themselves do not turn it on.

The hosting provider processes normal requests needed to deliver this website. Browser-local calculation does not mean that the hosting provider receives no network information. Do not enter confidential information or personal project addresses in section names.
